IWBNI the thickness of the brackets used for staff groups could be adjusted.

For piano braces, there is Options>Document Settings>Piano Braces. There could be a similar dialog box for the other types of brackets. In particular, IWBNI it were possible to thicken the bracket that is a vertical bar with curved tips (i.e. the bracket that appears after the piano braces in the Group Attributes dialog box).
